His works have been shown in numerous solo exhibitions, including at the Museum of Decorative Arts in the Dresden State Art Collections, the Dresden Municipal Gallery, the Engen Museum, the Neubrandenburg Art Collections, and in galleries and art associations in Berlin and Baden-Baden. In addition, Lippold has participated in several group exhibitions, including at the Museum of Printmaking in Leipzig, the Kunsthalle Gießen, and the Kunsthalle Mainz.

Work Title: Prosapina and Zeilenlied

Frank Lippold works with large-format wooden panels, whose surfaces he treats in a laborious process, carving the motifs directly out of the wood. His visual language emerges from the combination of direct observation of nature and visual approaches developed on the computer. He is particularly interested in the transition from virtual reality to realized virtuality, as well as the relationship between illusion, deception, and reality.

For the openart Lausitz Biennale, Lippold is presenting works that emerged from his engagement with landscapes and industrial sites between Dresden, Pisarzowice, and the Turów open-pit mine. They explore notions of nature and landscape, the significance of industry, and the hopes, changes, and ruptures associated with it.
