Co-curator of the 1st openart Lausitz Biennale
Anna Grunemann is an interdisciplinary visual artist, performer and art educator. Her work encompasses installations, site-specific works in public spaces, photography and participatory art projects.
After completing her studies in Erfurt (Art Education and Mathematics, 1987–1991) and in Hanover (Fine Art, 1991–2000), she lived and worked in Hanover for 30 years. There, she gained a wide range of experience in art education (including at the Kunstverein Hannover and the ‘Kunst umgehen’ project) as well as in curating exhibitions such as ‘Seitenwechsel’, ‘Mind the park’ and ‘plantjes en bloemetjes’. In 2018, she returned to her home town of Jamlitz (Brandenburg). In 2019, together with like-minded people, she initiated and founded the association brandung e.V. to promote art and culture in the region. Since then, she has curated three exhibitions in public rural spaces in Jamlitz together with her fellow artist Hannes Forster.
