Her professional career began in 1980 in Osnabrück, before she made her mark in Berlin from 1985 onwards – initially in the field of art in architecture and public spaces, and later, from 1991 to 2011, as director of the Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst (nGbK). In addition to her long-standing involvement on advisory boards such as Urbane Künste Ruhr, the Federal Ministry of Construction’s Expert Group on Art in Architecture, and as co-spokesperson for the Council for the Arts in Berlin, she provided decisive impetus for a reorientation of Berlin’s property policy as co-founder of the ‘Stadt Neudenken’ initiative.
